The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to an ATV crash near Arivaca.
The incident occurred on June 6 at the 4700 block of W De La Conoa.
One rider was treated on scene for minor injuries, however, the other rider died on the way to the hospital.
According to PCSD, the ATV was being operated by two female juveniles, ages 11 and 15.
The 15-year-old was seated behind the 11-year-old and was in control of the ATV.
Unfortunately, the 11-year-old girl passed away.
They were riding in the neighborhood when they crash into the back end of a flatbed tow truck parked on the side of the road.
PCSD say they were not wearing any type of protective gear or was licensed for an ATV.
The investigation is ongoing.
